Rowan Bird discovered Pearl River Glass Studio through a local gallery and quickly became immersed in the craft, apprenticing under Andy Young to learn fused glass and painting techniques. Since joining the studio in 2022, Rowan has transitioned into a design role, where they create detailed window and shop drawings using AutoCAD, render designs with traditional and digital techniques, and collaborate with clients in sales meetings.

Passionate about problem-solving, Rowan enjoys the creative challenges that come with each project. One of their most significant experiences was the restoration of the historic stained-glass windows at Holy Trinity in Vicksburg, where they played a role in carefully preserving and rebuilding pieces from the late 1800s.

Outside of work, Rowan is dedicated to their personal art practice, drawing inspiration from artists like Albert Bierstadt and Albrecht Dürer. Whether painting landscapes in oils or producing monotype prints, their artistic skills continually influence and enhance their work at Pearl River Glass.
