“We get one opportunity to build this window, so let’s do the best possible job that we can do.”

Founder & Visionary
Andy Young has spent 50 years mastering the delicate balance between tradition and innovation in stained glass. After earning a degree in landscape architecture from LSU in 1975, he turned down a conventional career path to follow his passion, founding Pearl River Glass Studio in Jackson, Mississippi. Since then, he has built PRG into a nationally recognized leader in stained-glass restoration and contemporary glass artistry.
Young’s work blends history with modern technology, restoring century-old stained-glass windows while incorporating cutting-edge techniques like water-jet cutting and computer-controlled kilns. Notable projects include the Mississippi State Capitol, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Vicksburg, and the Governor’s Office stained-glass restoration. His vision is for PRG to excel in every aspect of flat glass artwork, from traditional leaded windows to modern pressed-glass designs.
Beyond the studio, Young’s creativity extends to painting, writing, music, and an impressive home garden—each passion informing his artistic approach. He embraces the interplay of opposing forces, from the rigidity of glass to the organic nature of gardening, weaving them together in a life dedicated to craftsmanship, exploration, and innovation.
