Mikael Jury

Mikael Jury grew up in Georgia and studied at Belhaven University in Jackson. Before coming to Mississippi for school, Mikael spent two years working in the Pacific and Southeast Asia as a welder aboard the world’s oldest ocean-going passenger ship Doulos of Operation Mobilization. His time onboard was a unique challenge where he gained experience in metalworking and discovered a passion for the material. At Belhaven he studied art with an emphasis on sculpture which provided the opportunity to explore metal in a more creative way.

Since graduating, he has joined Pearl River Glass Studio as a member both of production and the install crew. Because of his position he is able to see the job sites before hand, take part in the building of windows, see them through multiple processes to completion, and then have the satisfaction of helping to install and see them in place. His excellent craftsmanship and love of exploring new materials has made him a great addition to production. Outside of the studio he enjoys reading, travel, and unicycling.
